What does it mean to be a pioneer? Get Ready to Read What does it mean to be a pioneer? Why did pioneers want to move west? What kind of challenges or obstacles did the pioneers face? Turn to pages 82-83. What kind of people do you think the pioneers were? What do you think life was like for those who moved to the frontier? What effects did the frontier families have on the country? What kind of house do the pioneers have?
