Presentation transcript:

Welcome to Room 206 SDC-LH K-3 Teacher: Ms. Lewis My class title is being changed but I still don’t know the new title yet.

Classroom Staff Ms. Lewis: Teacher Ms. Kami: Classroom IA Ms. Deborah: Classroom IA Ms. Melissa: 1:1 IA

Supplies for your child 1 folder: used to place class info, notes and homework in Lunchbox w/student’s name visible or active lunch account for hot meals Change of clothing in a large zip lock baggy clearly labeled with your student’s name on it.

Classroom The class schedule is on the front board to help student learn where we are at and to know what is next. Movement routing and reasoning: each time we come in or before we leave the class everyone sits in their seat this keeps students from running or pushing to try and line up. Each student lines up on a separate floor marker in the classroom and on the white lines after recess

Token System Students can earn token for any/all of the following: being a good listener Staying on task with work Helping out/cleaning up someone else's mess Assisting a friend The token chart is a living item which means there is no end to how many times a student can earn a prize. Once a student reaches the prize they get to choose their prize and their token chart starts anew.

Classroom Helpers Everyone will have multiple times to be a classroom helper Helpers are chosen by a check off system so that everyone gets to before each of the specific areas once before we start the rotations over If a helper is absent then I will pick good helpers through out the school day to step in the helpers place Each student should have their own pillow

Classwork There are “center” icons during these time we work in small groups on a variety of common core curriculum The “work” icon will be when students work individually at their desk on file folders and/or their hand writing skills

Note on Classwork Most classwork is done in small groups or 1 on 1 h/h = hand over hand WB = white board used for examples For math you might see 1st try and 2nd try ASB = student was absent Pulled = student was at outside services: speech, OT, APE ect.

English Curriculum We use the McGraw-Hill Wonders system for all grade levels Students will start with the basics and assignments will be adjusted per student to meet their needs. There is an online portion that you may wish to access as well as digital apps.

Math Curriculum We use the McGraw-Hill My Math system for all grade levels Students will start with the basics and assignments will be adjusted per student to meet their needs. There is an online portion that you may wish to access as well as digital apps. The math is being looked at and a new program might be implemented next year.
