Spanish Immersion Summer Camp Mission Statement Our mission is to provide our students with thoroughly personalized, interactive classes to speak and achieve fluency in Spanish. We also want to leave a lifetime impression on our students, as well as offer an unforgettable learning experience that enriches their lives. We will learn the Spanish language and about Hispanic cultures which will help us become more globally aware and internationally minded.

July 11, 12, 13, and 14 is our Spanish Mystery Week Bring a sandwichbag and one clean sock Next week When does the Spanish Immersion Summer Camp begin? ……..First week

Second Week July 18, 19, 20, 21 Is our Caribbean Sunshine Week bring your beach towel Next week

Third Week July 25, 26, 27, 28 Juggling with Spanish Bring as many Spanish words as you want and be ready to share them!!

Students will participate in hands-on activities to enrich their acquisition and production of the target language. During this time students will review or learn new basic vocabulary and build on producing more complex sentence structures. Students will have time to learn about the culture, create crafts, and play games all in the target language. Students will have the experience of being in Latin American countries without leaving home. All students will be placed according to their skill levels. This will be determined by the placement test administered the first day of summer camp. Students may come one, two, or all three weeks.

The Immersion Concept During the Spanish Immersion summer camp, students have to use the language they are learning right away by associating images, objects, and movement with words they hear from native speakers. Situated Learning aims at letting the student learn knowledge and skills in contexts where they are applicable. In this program, we also incorporate fun bilingual lessons so that our students attain valuable bilingual skills. The knowledge children attain in the Spanish Immersion summer Camp classes is highly practical. Through fun, interactive instructional activities, appreciation of Hispanic cuisines, and real life situations, students will have the opportunity to exercise their knowledge of Spanish. The Spanish Immersion Summer Camp has been designed to inspire, to interact, to engage, and to be able to speak and live the language right away. While adults learn languages analytically and deductively, children learn language inductively, through example and interacting with the environment around them. In our Spanish classes, we provide tools to speak and attain fluency while leaving a lifetime impression on our students. Our classes are small to maximize the time on speaking Spanish. To experience the Spanish language, join one of our personal and interactive Spanish programs, taught by native speakers with years of experience in the Spanish immersion program and other foreign language programs. Make the language your own and part of your everyday life through food, music, culture, and everything thats meaningful to you.
