HR USER GROUP 25 March 2015 Programme Welcome and Introduction Nigel Waugh - Director of Human Resources TOPICS – PGTA contracts – working party Affiliate academics – future change to current procedure Update on the HR system transformation project DBS checks – ensuring the right level of check is undertaken and related updates Shared Parental Leave - update from workshops / further issues or comments arising from Departments    Immigration - update on recent/forthcoming rules changes                                                             Policy updates       Presenters : Fiona Daffern – Head of Employment Policy Development Jon Everard - Head of Pensions, ECA & Payroll   Last summer the government consulted on proposed reforms to employment-related settlement, Tier 5 and overseas domestic worker routes. Many staff contributed to the UCL response, which was amongst over 12,000 responses received nationally. The government has published the consultation findings together with a Statement of Intent outlining the changes they intend to make. In addition they have published a separate Statement of Intent regarding changes to study and post-study work for students. Subject to the laying of Parliamentary rules, these changes will be effective from 6 April 2012.
