Educational Technology Unit Definition “Educational Technology is the effective use of technological tools in learning. As a concept, it concerns an array of tools, such as media, machines and networking hardware, as well as considering theoretical perspectives for their effective application.” Richey, R.C. (2008). TechTrends. 52(1) 24-25 Mission To enhance the quality of teaching and learning processes within the ELSD classroom, by effectively integrating and implementing various technological tools for KSUPY students, and to help achieve the ELSD objectives by providing those tools and the training needed to teachers and students, to effectively use them to maximize benefit.

Educational Technology Unit

The Edtech unit responsibilities Designing and providing digital learning/teaching content and resources for use inside and outside of the ELSD classroom Teacher training and workshops LMS (Learning Management System) facilitation Books (order, delivery, sales and logistics) for students and teachers Resources and Stationery on all campuses Resource Rooms (library, photocopying and printing, etc.) Facilities support coordination

What does the EdTech Unit provide for you? The Educational Technology (EdTech) Unit provides a range of educational technology tools for teachers and students These tools aim to enhance the teaching/learning process on campus, as well as encouraging the learners’ autonomy outside of the ELSD classroom ELSD Blog (pyd.ksu.edu.sa/elsdblog) LMS (Oxfordlearn) Student’s section of the ELSD Blog Interactive DVDs (New Headway Plus workbooks)

The ELSD Blog is the online resource which gives teachers access to interactive materials to supplement the ELSD curriculum. LMS is available from any location with internet, on or off campus. LMS allows our students to practice online activities corresponding to the curriculum they study on a day to day basis.
