TKAM: Chapter 9 Close Read Activity How to annotate: Annotating is when you write out (or in our case, type) your thought process as you read in the margins of the text. Your job is to write your thoughts as you read - any inferences, opinions, reactions and questions you have as you read through the text. If you would like further explanation, check out the document titled “Annotation Example” under today’s date!  You will need 10 annotations total for full points. You will be graded on completion and the thought you put into your annotations.   Some possible annotations… Questions (“I wonder…”) Inferences (“I think…”) Connections (“This reminds me of…”) Predictions (“I bet _____ will happen because…”) Personal Reactions (“This would make me feel _____ because….”)

TKAM: Chapter 9 Close Read Activity Step One: Read through the excerpt from Chapter 9 and make at least 10 annotations throughout the text. Step Two: Complete IXL practice A.3 and A.4 in the Language Arts ninth grade skills section. Both will be due by Friday afternoon. Step Three: You may begin your homework, which is to read Chapter 10. No need to complete the study questions. 
