WIDA Test Results Four components that tested the student’s language acquisition necessary to succeed in school: Listening-process, understand, interpret and evaluate spoken language in a variety of situations Speaking-engage in oral communication in a variety of situations for a variety of purposes and audiences Reading-process, understand, interpret , and evaluate written language, symbols and texts with understanding and fluency Writing- engage in written communication in a variety of situations for a variety of purposes and audiences Weakness across the board is in writing.

Level 1 Entering Level 2 Beginning Level 3 Developing Level 4 Expanding Level 5 Bridging Level 6 Reaching Knows and uses minimal social language and minimal academic language with visual and graphic support Knows and uses some social English and general academic language with visual and graphic support Knows and uses social English and some academic language with visual and graphic support Knows and uses social English and some technical academic language Knows and uses social English and academic language working with grade level material Knows and uses social English and academic language at the highest level measured by this test

Winter Break At-home Activities Helps prevent back slide of academic growth Keeps students engaged in interactive activities For high school students, please have them working on USA Test Prep on the computer to prepare for the end of course exams.
