Comprehension It’s more than just retrieval. The power of 3: 1- Decoding 2- Meaning 3- performance (read to siblings etc) Let your child lead- what do they think and why? Do they have questions they would like to ask?

Learning to Love reading Use the Library as often as you can Allow your child to choose! Come in for book week/ book fair If you enjoy it, so will your child.

Reading with your child Every little counts! Take it slow- don’t encourage guessing. Use the reading record as a monitoring tool. Enjoy it!
