Solutions of Linear Functions To determine if a point is a solution to a linear function To use a table to graph a linear function

What is a solution of a linear function? Any ordered pair that satisfies the equation of the linear function Ex The ordered pair (2,1) is a solution of the linear function 2x – y = 3 but (1,1) is not Explain why?

Solution or Not a Solution? That is the question Given 4x – 5y = 1 Given 3y + x = 28 Is (4,3) is a solution? Is (4,4) is a solution?

Make a function table, list the coordinates and graph the equation. y = x - 3 x y = x - 3 y (x,y) -2 -1 1 2

Make a function table, list the coordinates and graph the equation. y = 2x + 4 x y = 2x + 4 y (x,y) -2 -1 1 2

Write the equation in function table, list the coordinates and graph the equation. 3x + y = 5 Function form: ________ x y = y (x,y) -2 -1 1 2

Write the equation in function table, list the coordinates and graph the equation. 4x + 4y = 8 Function form: ________ x y = y (x,y) -2 -1 1 2

Write the equation in function table, list the coordinates Write the equation in function table, list the coordinates. You do NOT have to graph the equation. 3x – 2y = 6 Function form: ________ x y = y (x,y) -2 -1 1 2
