Hurricane Harvey Emergency Response Between 8/26 – 8/28 Hurricane Harvey made 3 landfalls and stalled over Texas dumping more that 58” of rain in SE TX. On 8/31, USDA provided CU with a list of 171 borrowers in the 39 counties Hurricane Harvey declared counties to complete initial damage assessments.

Hurricane Harvey Emergency Response

Hurricane Harvey Emergency Response On September 1, CU developed the basemap and attributes tables for the Harvey GeoDatabase. Between 9/4 – 9/11 Communities Unlimited RCAP Staff in Texas completed 171 assessments.

Hurricane Harvey Emergency Response Each evening, CU forwarded ICS 201 Briefing Reports with updated Maps and System Status Reports to USDA and RCAP.

Hurricane Harvey Recovery Assistance CU is currently assisting 22 communities with long-term disaster recovery. USDA deferred 2 loans for 1 year. Fear of losing FEMA funding has paralyzed many of these communities.
