What do i teach? -Academic Support (Periods 2 and 4) -Math (Periods 1 and 3) -Bio Science 7 (I co-teach Period 5)

Academic support (Grades 6, 7, and 8) This course aims to provide students with a set of good study habits that will enable them to gain more independence and confidence in their education. Students will be given a place to develop these skills, learn a system to keep track of school work, understand how to better manage their time, and increase communication with their teachers.

Math This course will concentrate on a clear set of math skills and concepts in an organized and sequential way. The curriculum provides students with steps that are repeated in each lesson in order to develop strong skills and build on each concept as the curriculum progresses. Students will be encouraged to solve real-world problems by setting a solid foundation of processing skills.

What should your student bring to class? Student Planner Subject Area Workbook/Textbook Completed homework assignments Notebook/Notebook paper Pencil/Pen (blue, black, red)

homework! Students will typically have Homework each night (Monday through Thursday) 6th - 90 minutes total per night 7th - 30 minutes per academic subject per night 8th - 40 minutes per academic subject per night Assignments will be posted daily on the board and announced in class. I am working on having assignments posted online, and will email you with that information once ready.

Keeping you in the loop... Official grades are issued at the end of the first (January 17) and second (June 8) semesters. Progress report cards are issued at the end of the first (October 23) and third quarters (April 9). I will send out emails including each Quarter’s Progress Report and a SEIS Progress Report of progress made on Individual Education Program goals. PowerSchool is updated weekly and you may access your student’s grades through this site.
