Rule for ‘year and period’

New marine boundaries for Kattegat Art 4 of Marine Strategy Framework Directive includes Kattegat in North-east Atlantic Ocean region. Currently the Art 17 border is result of informal working agreement between MS and EC and is based on Helcom convention.

FAQ since previous meeting Art 17: seven FAQ added e.g. suitable habitat, year/period for maps, precisions for section 3, use of qualifiers Art 12: two new FAQ - precisions for section 3 Coming soon: Field 1.1.5: Range maps. We expect all Distribution maps delivered under 1.1.1 (i.e. 10x10km ETRS grids) to have a corresponding Range map, it should be a one to one relationship. Threats & pressures (Art 12)

Check the Reference Portals regularly! Art 17: http://bd.eionet.europa.eu/article17/FAQ Art 12: http://bd.eionet.europa.eu/activities/Article_12_Birds_Directive/FAQ

National summaries New: Explanatory notes Art 17 - Revised sections (since 8.11.2012): In previous version: SACs were in brackets. Number of sites was mistakenly in %

------ ------ Previous version: Number of species extinct… was not given, 3.3.presentation has been simplified as earlier graph was considered too complex, 3.5. ‘no change reported’ is now ‘change reported & no reason provided’

This was the alternative proposed also in the previous version Same for Art 12!

Presentation has been changed & ‘inside-outside N2000’ not included (too complex) Same for Art 12!

Also CS results from 2007 are included

Art 12 - Revised sections (since 8.11.2012): 2. Number of extinct… and newly arriving birds added. 3. within declining & increasing trend three categories defined based on trend magnitude – for range as well!

New, simple graph on short-term and long-term trend – same for breeding range trends. All taxa, Annex I & non-Annex I is new.

Two graphs now: separate for breeding taxa and wintering taxa.

‘Rep’ (% of missing reports) and missing maps added

Proposal for a scoreboard 1. Timeliness of report delivery Two parts: 1. timeliness of report delivery and 2.data quality

2. Data quality 2.1. Absent and unknown information 2.2. Unknown overall conclusions (Art 17 only) 2.3. Missing information 2.1. Absent and unknown information % of mandatory fields reported as ‘unknown’ or ‘’absent data’

2.2. Unknown overall conclusions (only Art 17) % of overall conclusions reported as ‘unknown’ 2.3. Missing information % of fields with missing information
