MRPM SG Closing Report – 5/18/08 Two meeting slots: May 13 (Tue) AM1, May 13 (Tue) PM3 Officers Chair: Behcet Sarikaya Editor: Behcet Sarikaya Secretary: Junghoon Jee Technical contributions http://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/documents/ 21-08-0156-00-mrpm

MRPM SG Closing Report – 5/18/08 Tue AM1 Session & Tue PM3 Session: Chair mentioned that the editor position is open, possibility of appointing an editor to MRPM in July 2008 Plenary Chair presented the concerns on MRPM Use Cases based on https://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/file/08/21-08-0139-00-mrpm-concerns-on-mrpm-use-cases.ppt Both sessions concentrated on this Heated debate on the concerns and reformulation of MRPM problem (not the solution) Next steps in terms of teleconferences and technical work are identified 21-08-0156-00-mrpm

MRPM SG Closing Report – 5/18/08 Teleconference schedule: Wednesdays 9-11pm Tentative Schedule May 28 June 11 June 25 July 9 Bridge info for each teleconference will be provided in 802.21 reflector 21-08-0156-00-mrpm

MRPM SG Closing Report – 5/18/08 Next Steps-Technical Work Items Single-radio power management detailed study Currently work almost complete on WiMAX including 802.16e and 802.11 Pointers were provided during the week for 3GPP/2 Current work to be completed including all major single-radio technologies like 3GPP/2 Sleep Mode in WiMAX is valid even for Real-Time traffic, is this valid for 3GPP/2? More on this is provided in this presentation: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/file/08/21-08-0157-00-mrpm-power-management-in-802-11.ppt MAC state transition diagrams for major single-radio technologies as well as power consumption values at each state More on this is provided in this presentation: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/file/08/21-08-0158-00-mrpm-pm-states-in-single-radio-technologies.ppt 21-08-0156-00-mrpm

MRPM SG Closing Report – 5/18/08 Next Steps-Technical Work Items Study of the radio state. MRPM needs to consider power management capabilities, etc. per link for hand off scheduling More on this is provided in this presentation: https://mentor.ieee.org/802.21/file/08/21-08-0159-00-mrpm-radio-state-in-mrpm.ppt Based on the above, high level MRPM Problem formulation for PAR 21-08-0156-00-mrpm

MRPM SG Closing Report – 5/18/08 Next Steps: Technical work will be advanced in the teleconferences until July Plenary Members are requested to attend the teleconferences and to volunteer to work 21-08-0156-00-mrpm
