What is Eckman Transport? It is the net movement of water due to wind induced stress blowing across a body of water. The water is transported 90 degrees to the right of the wind direction A spiral effect is created in the water column

Results Mass Eckman transport: leg 1= +3.4236e-004 Sv leg 2= -0.1067 Sv leg 3= -0.0035 Sv Total Eckman transport= leg 1+leg2+leg3 -0.1098 Sv

Conclusions Total Ekman transport is out of the box Agrees with the results from the past two years: 2001: -0.2 Sv out of the box 2002: -0.17467 Sv out of the box 2003: -0.1098 Sv out of the box

More Info!! Shows an annual pattern Could suggest coastal upwelling by California Current Should match the Geostrophic Current in ‘theory’
