Health and Wellbeing Responsibility of All Janice Watson Health and Wellbeing Education Officer

Highlight the key messages of the new ‘Making the links’ resource Aims Highlight the key messages of the new ‘Making the links’ resource Illustrate the flexibility of the resource and its online functions Discuss possible approaches to evaluating progress

What it includes Organisers which are RoA Key messages from the P and P paper Link to the resource online All heading when accessed online link to each document

Other key documents Impact report Crucial link to skills Prof stands inspections

This give lots of ideas on how to use the resource, it is a package – booklet and 2 posters, one with ideas the other blank for you to personalise Available online

Booklet, posters and interactive PDF all available Also a link to the Girfec self evaluation tool – talk about later

Interactive page – personalise at school level, dept/faculty level, class level – for any age group Also can show links to the specific E’s and O’s the school has decided to focus on. The planning process…….

Key to planning – linking it to the vision and values and the current improvement/action plan important. Allows those involved to see how the process supports what the school is doing already and is not an add on. Must ask whole learning community if it is to be truly effective Own context vital to ensure it is relevant – local data Link to Girfec and UNCRC also makes the sum more than the value of the parts

Linking the e’ and o’s to the wellbeing indicators – we have given suggestions , can be done in many ways to suit own context – don’t try to do everything at once, have a focus and fit the appropriate E’s and o’s around this focus, or do it the other way round

Some establishments may find this useful when working with young people, they could also five their own descriptions of what they think each one is

Strong link to Girfec through the indicators Tool – poster can be a useful way of self evaluating in relation to the tool

UNCRC already linked the articles to the indicators so it should be possible to also focus on the articles and pull the 3 things together in a planned and coordinated way

Professional learning resource – key message – cannot ‘assess’ HWB RoA

Hopefully you are not feeling too overwhelmed and feel more confident about HWB RoA and what the next steps are Any questions?
