jewelry Making Watercolor bracelets

Agenda Review of last time Take notes on how to make a watercolor bracelet Watch demo on how to make a watercolor bracelet We will continue to solder ring bands While you are waiting you can make your watercolor jewelry.

Last time We learned how to solder. Each of you took notes on how to make a ring. Once done everyone prepped their rings and began soldering

Supplies for watercolor jewelry Round nose plyers Flat nose plyers Cutters 24 inches of 18 gage copper wire 8 inches of 20 gage copper wire A ring mandrel or something to wrap you wire around A small file 7x2 inch piece of watercolor paper Watercolor brush Watercolor paints Cup of water Polyacrylic glue Glue brush Paper clips

Step 1 Bend the wire into a bangle shape or 5 individual shapes. You need to coil in and wire wrap to make it a shape and hide the ends of the wire.

Step 2 Decorate the watercolor paper To use watercolor you need to add water to the colors and add them to the paper.

Step 3 Place your watercolor paper color side out on the inside of you wire piece. Paper clip the watercolor paper to the wire frame. If you are doing a bangle you will need to bend the wire around a bracelet mandrel first.

Step 4 Once the paper is dry add Polyacrylic glue to the inside of the frame on top of the watercolored paper adding plenty where the wire is touching.

Step 5 Let dry Remove paper clips Cut excess watercolor paper off the sides and file down to smooth.

Demonstration Listen and observe as Mrs. Francesconi makes watercolor jewelry piece.

Studio Time Finish your recycled jewelry first if you have not already Get your ring sheet metal and file it flat Bend it so it will sit flat together Line up to solder If you did not give Mrs. Francesconi your ring size you will have to cut it yourself with a saw Check your ring size on the chart and cut it to the size needed. Once done soldering shape and clean your ring band. If there is a long line to wait than begin work on your watercolor bracelet.
