Recent Public Comment Proposals Expedited Placement Concept Paper Solicited feedback on several concepts Committee is using the feedback as it works to develop a proposal for January 2019 The Committee distributed a concept paper in the spring to get feedback on several concepts. There was general support for developing an expedited placement system but varying opinions on how the system would work.
Expedited Placement Project Focus initially on liver allocation Develop criteria for both the in-OR and pre-OR triggers Evaluate what the “lists” might look like for both scenarios (e.g. quicker acceptance needed for in-OR turndown while pre-OR might be based on donor characteristics/acceptance history) The Committee is focusing initially on liver allocation in order to develop a framework that could eventually be used for the other organ systems.
Expedited Placement Project Data requested to review “probability of transplant” model for pre-OR trigger Compare results to the donor profiles developed by the Liver Committee The Committee will be reviewing data on the probability of transplant model to help identify “pre-OR” triggers.
