Light Data Provider The Light Data Provider software (L-DP) is an extension of Data Provider functionality. The goal of Light Data Provider – to integrate data from data centres unable to install Data Provider software. Light DP is one of the possibilities to attract data centres to submit data without much efforts.
How to start with Light DP Send a request to data centre with installed DP to host you as a Light Data Provider Create user at regional portal (see “User and role management”) Register Light Data Provider at Integration Server Notify user by e-mail about login/password and URL of DP web-interface
Capabilities Register metadata Connect data: Metadata maintenance Upload data files on DP server (structured and objective data files) Specify HTTP/FTP URLs (catalogues, data files or links to web-applications available by Internet) Metadata maintenance
Pros and cons Pros: Nothing to install Data storage is provided by DP server Cons: Uploaded data volume is limited Data from DBMS couldn’t be submitted in proper way (in accordance with network speed and large volumes of data)
