The Kindergarten Weekly News Writing and Handwriting Header Type here! The Kindergarten Weekly News 9/4/18-9/7/18 This Week’s Theme: We will continue to learn some new Nursery Rhymes. We will be learning how to identify rhyming words which is part of our Phonological awareness standards for Reading. Are other theme this week will be learning to work together and participating in partner activities. Math Module 1 Lessons 9-13 Objectives: Find hidden patterns in Linear and array dot configuration; circular and scattered configurations; Model decomposition of 3 w/materials, drawings, expressions; understanding meaning of 0 and write 0; order and write #’s 1-3. Writing and Handwriting Writing: Journals (first stage of writing which is drawing pictures to align with prompt given by teacher. Handwriting: Handwriting Without Tears letters Letters for the week: H, K, L and Name Practice Reading and Literature Story: We Are So Proud Comprehension: Setting Amazing Words: proud, cooperation, float, preparation, creation, guide Question of the week? How do students work and play together? Conventions: Write our Names Sight Words: I, am Phonological Awareness: Counting words in a sentence and initial sounds and Rhyming words Genre: Realistic Fiction Letters: H, K, L Decodable Book: Am I We are continuing to learn how to rotate through our centers and work independently. Social Studies: Working together, Patriotic symbols, and problem solving activities.

Important Dates to Remember Homework Thank you to those parents who sent homework back on Friday. We would like you to keep the book that is apart of the homework packet so you can continue to practice reading these books with your child for reading practice. If your child reads these books each night you can document this time as part of your nightly reading.
