Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper Essay Life in the Soil: Dig Deeper Essay Due Date March 8, 2019 Test Grade *Minimum of 3 references in MLA Format (See easybib.com)* Formal Essay: Expository writing which explains or discusses a subject in a prescribed format Structure: Traditionally, three, four, or five paragraphs Introduction: One paragraph with topic sentence Body: One to three paragraphs Conclusion: One paragraph Spacing: Double spaced Font: Times New Roman 12 Number of words: The length of the essay must be a minimum of 300 words and maximum of 500 words. If handwritten: Must be legible!

Essay Checklist: 1. Signed Cover Sheet 25 points 2. Essay 50 points 3. Bibliography (Reference) Page 25 points This is a TEST grade! 25 points will be deducted from your grade for every day that it is late!

Potential Topics List, describe, and explain the roles of living organisms in the soil. Organisms that live in the soil animals microorganisms insects What are they? Are they beneficial and how? What are the effects of pesticides, herbicides, and pollution on those organisms? What can we do to improve the soil so those organisms can thrive?
