Warm up List three facts from the video.

Buffalo Soldiers by Bob Marley Look over the lyrics and watch the music video about . Answer these three question in your notebook: Who are the buffalo soldiers? Where are they from? What wars do you think they fought in?

Buffalo Soldiers African American army regiments formed after the Civil War, most notable fought in the Frontier Wars. Usually comprised of freemen, former slaves, and Black Civil War Soldiers, these regiments were nicknamed “Buffalo Soldiers” as a sign of respect by the Native Americans.

Frontier Wars Map Using pg. 399 of your book complete the maps and use pgs. 395-405 to complete the fill in the blank questions below. Use to color to show the different forts, battles, reservation territory. Be productive!

Stations At each station, answer the questions based on the primary source documents you are observing. Do not move to the next station until you hear the timer ring; do not talk with others across the room. When you are done go back to your seat. Write in complete sentences.
