Accessibility to Major Employment Centers by Business Sector in the NJTPA Region Connect to accessibility presentation.

Recap of Repurposing Local Underutilized Properties Workshop Industrial Properties – Jeff Milanaik, Bridge Development Historic Properties – Richard Dunn, VP, Paramount Assets The Future of Retail – Matthew Harding, Levin Management Brownfield Properties – Colette Santasieri, NJIT Takeaways Takeaways: transportation assets and cooperation with municipal officials and stakeholders are key to success (Jeff M’s presentation about Perth Amboy); historic properties downtown – often don’t activate above the first floor retail. Existing downtown properties are the heart and character of a community. Retail – brick and mortar isn’t dead, but it is changing (experiences, “showrooms”); and brownfields can be an asset. Key to a successful project is to engage the community and town early. This was the second in a series of repurposing workshops. The first was on January 17 and it focused on large properties such as corporate office parks and large industrial sites.

Where we are now and where we want to go? Prioritize actions for the next year What actions do we want to continue? What new actions do we want to pursue? Leadership Task Force co-chairs Other leadership opportunities Membership (New member packet) Support from NJTPA and VTC Are there any new efforts we want to explore?
