MRPM Scenarios Revisited 2019/5/8

Need to modify existing scenarios TR has 6 scenarios In view of MRPM Reformulation we need to modify these scenarios 2019/5/8

Scenarios 6.1 & 6.4 Paging Using Active Interface & Waking up WiFi interface via WiMax Paging Combine them into one and revise the text Make scenarios independent of single radio technology like WiFi or WiMAX The idea is that MRPM proxies MN on certain interfaces for paging responses and location updates 2019/5/8

Scenarios 6.1 & 6.4 In cellular networks if the interface is powered off the network will not let any calls to be established This requires the powered off interface to be proxied When the call comes (SIP Invite, etc.) MRPM will wake up the powered off interface to take the call using the active interface Since the active interface is used, no paging is needed, i.e. we don’t need to emulate paging signaling on the active interface 2019/5/8

Scenario 6.2 Location Update Using the Active Interface WiFi does not support location update signaling We should exclude LU signaling for WiFi WiFi interfaces does not need LU signaling in order to receive a call 2019/5/8

Scenario 6.3 Idle Mode Signaling for Multiple Interfaces WiFi does not have idle mode So WiFi does not have idle mode signaling We should exclude WiFi from idle mode signaling 2019/5/8

Scenario 6.5 Parameters Configuration of Idle Interface Is there still interest on this scenario? If yes, probably this scenario is OK 2019/5/8

Scenario 6.6 Power Management in Out-of-Coverage Areas Related to the discussion of radio scheduling in sparse coverage which is discussed in the redefined scenarios Because of this, Scenario 6.6 will be covered in the redefined scenarios 2019/5/8

Thank You! 2019/5/8
