The Triangle Lesson We will consider the different roles that people assumed in the Holocaust and relate these roles to choices people make in present-day society, especially in situations of socially cruel behavior.

PERPETRATOR: Someone who commits or carries out a wrongdoing. Perpetrator=offender, criminal

What character traits do you believe the perpetrators possessed? Teacher this is optional, depending on the class and timeframe. Complete all, or a couple. What character traits do you believe the perpetrators possessed? List traits below the triangle

BYSTANDER: A person who is present at an event or incident but does not take part or help. Bystander=Onlooker, eyewitness

What character traits do you believe the bystanders possessed? List traits below the triangle

RESCUER: A person who saves another from danger or violence. Rescuer=hero, protector

What character traits do you believe the rescuer/upstander possessed? List traits above the triangle

UPSTANDER: A person that finds a way to make a difference. Upstander=supporter, helper
