Mafia Game

Roles Narrator Citizen Mafia

How to Play

Step 1 To begin, the teacher will be the narrator.

Teacher will pass out cards. KEEP CARDS SECRET! Step 2 Teacher will pass out cards. KEEP CARDS SECRET! Students go to sleep and must hide their eyes.

You might be police, mafia or townsperson. Step 3 You might be police, mafia or townsperson. Teacher (narrator) chooses the cast (mafia, doctor, police) by first announcing the student’s roles one by one and then touching them on the back. If any student peeks at any stage, then the game must start again. Note: Poker cards depicting each role can be dealt – K mafia (usually 2, up to 4), Q doctor (1), J police (1) and numbered cards as citizens but cards might be difficult to get back if playing with young children. In this case, S’s must keep their cards hidden, not revealing them to their neighbor.

Who is guilty? Write student’s names on the board who are chosen as suspects. The 2-3 frequently called names will be voted on by their peers to see if they are guilty or not. 32

Are you Mafia? If the student is voted out, they reveal if they citizen or Mafia. 34

You were saved. Do you want revenge? If the student, whether citizen or mafia is saved, they can oust 1 citizen. They DON’T share if they are mafia or not. 35
