New Tanzanian Law Threatens Free Speech Tanzania’s government has put forward a new law that will regulate content online within the country. “Bloggers, social media influencers and online platforms will now have to apply for a licence and pay a fee of $930 if they want to keep their sites up.” Local rights groups are concerned that this law will limit freedom of expression.
