Introduction to China Natural barriers isolated China: Pacific Ocean, Himalaya Mountains, Gobi Desert, Plateau of Tibet Viewed people who lived outside of China as barbarians, thought their civilization was the center of the civilized world The civilization never failed, continues to thrive today
