The 1st Six Weeks will come to an end on Friday, October 6th and with it you will be receiving not only report cards but diagnostic reports for Reading and Math. Please help us by encouraging your son or daughter to log on at home to Imagine Math and Language and Literacy or to Istation. If we work together, our students will surpass any academic challenge! Attendance is crucial for student success. Every student is important, so we want to see them on campus daily and actively learning with their peers and teacher to ensure that they are receiving the best education possible. The month of October has exciting events not only for our students but for you as parents as well. We hope to see you at all the functions our school has coming up! Have a SPOOKTACULAR month! Sincerely, Mrs. M. Lopez Six Pillars of Character Ed Downs Elementary recognizes the importance of developing strong character within our students. Our staff will continue to Implement CHARACTER COUNTS and the Greypup PRIDE Positive Behavior Program this school year. A person of character thinks right and does right according to core universal values that define the qualities of a good person: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. The CHARACTER COUNTS program refers to these as the Six Pillars of Character We We Want YOU!! *Parental involvement is key to student success. Come on by and visit our parent center on Monday’s to lend a helping hand. Our teachers are always looking for parent volunteers, so please be sure to ask if there is something you can assist them with. *Our PTO is another great way to get involved and find out what we are doing here at Ed Downs Elementary. Our next PTO is scheduled for Oct. 17th!
