What is a stereotype?

What stereotypes are at play in the scene from grease?

Stereotypes in The Outsiders Greasers Socs

Listen To Chapter one and make observations: What makes a person a “Greaser”? What makes a person a “Soc”? What side does the narrator want you to be on? Were most of the characters we watched in the clip at the beginning of class greasers or socs?

With the remainder of class, work independently to complete the chart This requires you to go back in the book and reread to uncover and record information about each character or group of characters introduced in chapter one THERE WILL BE A READING QUIZ ON THESE CHARACTERS TOMORROW!
