Unidad Gómez Palacio The Zero Conditional (The Present Real conditional) What is it?

Condition Result Unidad Gómez Palacio It’s a structure we use when the result of the condition is always true, like a scientific fact. If you freeze water, it turns into ice. Condition Result

Unidad Gómez Palacio The Zero Conditional indicates certainty. Notice that we are talking about a result that is always true for its condition. Take some water. Put it in a container. Place it in the freezer. What happens? It freezes. We would be surprised if it didn’t.

When you heat water to 100 degrees Celcius, it boils. Unidad Gómez Palacio We often use when instead of if. for example: When you heat water to 100 degrees Celcius, it boils.

Unidad Gómez Palacio We always have 2 clauses: The condition and the result. The oder is not important. If they don’t eat, people get hungry. People get hungry If they don’t eat. *Use a comma when the first clause is the . condition result result condition condition

Structure When Ann gets sick, she goes to the doctor. Unidad Gómez Palacio Structure When Ann gets sick, she goes to the doctor. Simple Present Condition IF/WHEN Simple Present When do we use The Zero Conditional?

Unidad Gómez Palacio Remember that the zero conditional is used to talk about things which are always true, such as scientific facts and things that generally true. Examples: If you mix red and yellow, you get orange. When the weather is nice, I normally go camping.

Unidad Gómez Palacio Change the order to the following conditional sentences:

Thank you Have a nice day!!! Unidad Gómez Palacio Compare your answers with your classmates!!!! Thank you Have a nice day!!!
