Montana – Summary of January 10 email At least two weeks before a training or activity: Complete CELL training record Contact CELL Day of the training or activity: Trainees complete training participant roster and other evaluation forms Make a copy of the training participant roster Within 1 week following training or activity: Complete CELL training notes & training material covered form Mail all forms to Puckett Institute Within 2 weeks following a training or activity: Send honorarium form and copy of training participant roster to regional CSPD coordinator

South Dakota – Summary of January 6 email Before a training or activity: Contact your ECE office Contact Wendy Highland Contact Fiona Helsel Day of the training or activity: Trainees complete training participant roster and other evaluation forms Within 1 week following training or activity: Complete training material covered form Give all forms to ECE office

Training and Activity Follow-Up Do follow-up with trainees Do follow-up with the people you talk to about CELL Send us the names and contact information of the people you train or talk to about CELL Follow-up can happen in multiple ways: Phone call, email, face-to-face, part of series training After a training or after less formal interactions

Training and Activity Follow-Up Follow-up can focus on multiple things: Reinforce the concepts you trained on or talked about Find out what they’re doing with information you gave them Consider using tip sheets (see CELL website www.earlyliteracylearning.org; general technical assistance) Consider using additional practices (see distance learning website; http://www.earlyliteracylearning.org/dl_overview.php)

Based on the power point you were trained on Made it more specific to the home visiting situation, especially the hands-on practices Appropriate for people who train home visitors and people who work in the home – look for natural opportunities to share information with a family Home visitors should adapt the language to the individual family
