Conducting research about your Country’s policy
Collecting information: Filling in the Country information sheet Begin by describing the official position of the nation you are representing with respect to the issue debated in the resolution: (1) CIA World Fact Book (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/), (2) the foreign ministry site of your Country (3) the national legislature site of your Country These will provide you with authoritative policy statements.
Once you have checked the official statements (i. e Once you have checked the official statements (i.e. the official position) of your Country about a certain policy, you will have to get further information by looking into the websites listed in the guidelines and keeping an eye on international newspapers. Record the results of your research in the Country information sheet and in the Policy planning sheet. Country information sheet = general information about the Country Policy planning sheet = specific information on your Country’s point of view on the topic of the resolution
