ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Pre-2011 Economic Development (ED) was heavily focused on Redevelopment activities and well funded. During recession, ED was lean and did not have a dedicated funding source. Riverside County adapted and implements programs understanding the following: Collaboration is key Leveraging of human and fiscal resources is essential One size doesn’t fit all

EVC RETURN ON INVESTMENT YEAR 2 – FY 2017/18 Economic impact – 175 jobs - $16,850,000 CapEx Projects include: Quadrow Industries Indio; Lundin Development Indio; French Rotisserie La Quinta Helped organize and cohost first Coachella Valley Business Conference
EVC RETURN ON INVESTMENT YEAR 3 – FY 2018/19 Helped organize and cohost 2018 Ag Expo Economic impact – 136 jobs - $2,600,000 CapEx Projects include: BuzzBox Indio; ACE Hardware Coachella; Tractor Supply Indio; Treasure Hunt Indio Coachella Valley Small Business Development Center – 7 loan closings, 106 clients assisted (523 hours), 29 jobs out of just 2 loans.
