COMPARISON AND CONTRAST ESSAY FORMAT The BLOCK Format

The BLOCK Format In this method, the characteristics of one subject are presented, followed by the characteristics of the second subject, and then the two subjects may be addressed together.

ATTENTION GRABBER STATE THE TWO TOPICS THESIS STATEMENT INTRODUCTION ATTENTION GRABBER RHETORICAL QUESTION OR STATISTIC STATE THE TWO TOPICS THESIS STATEMENT

BODY PARAGRAPH TOPIC #1 Topic 1 Discuss the first topic in detail. Do not mention topic two in the first portion. Use details and support (quotes) from the text to back up your discussion.
