Willing disciples of christ “Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for god loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent,…” Philippians 2:14-15

One son was willing. The other son was not. MATTHEW 21:28-32 The son who repented and then obeyed his father was the willing son. Are not all sons of God to be working daily in His vineyard?

To look back at what was left behind is an indication of a divided heart. LUKE 9:61-62 Absolutely nothing is to come before the Lord. Come out of the world (2 CORINTHIANS 6:17); die to sin (COLOSSIANS 3:5; 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-11).

To look back at what was left behind is an indication of a divided heart. GALATIANS 5:19-21 Are we looking back at impurity and sensuality? With enmity and jealousy? 1 PETER 4:3-4 Are we longing for worldly friends and worldly parties?

Godliness entails accepting God-established roles for us. “… the elders among you… you younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another…” 1 PETER 5:1, 5 “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account.” HEBREWS 13:17

Godliness entails accepting God-established roles for us. “Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. . . . as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.” EPHESIANS 5:22, 24

Godliness entails accepting God-established roles for us. “… be filled with the spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,… always giving thanks for all things… and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.” EPHESIANS 5:18-21 “… consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together,…” HEBREWS 10:24-25

Godliness entails accepting God-established roles for us. “Whoever forces you to go one mile, go with him two.” MATTHEW 5:41 “… if she has shown hospitality to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has assisted those in distress,…” 1 TIMOTHY 5:10 “And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” HEBREWS 13:16

The hymn READY TO GO by a. c. palmer: Ready to suffer grief or pain, Ready to stand the test; Ready to stay at home and send others if He sees best. Ready to go, ready to bear, Ready to watch and pray; Ready to stand aside and give till He shall clear the way. Ready to speak, ready to think, Ready with heart and mind; Ready to stand where He sees fit, Ready His will to find. Ready to speak, ready to warn, Ready o’er souls to yearn; Ready in life or ready in death, Ready for His return.

The hymn READY TO GO By a. c. palmer: Ready to go, ready to stay, Ready my place to fill; Ready for service lowly or great, Ready to do His will.
