THE GIFT OF HOPE Romans 4:18-5:5

Hope is the confidence in how it ends that strengthens you to endure how it is.

Romans 4:18-25 18In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, “So shall

your offspring be.” 19He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he

considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. 20No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21fully

convinced that God was able to do what he had promised convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. 22That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” 23But the words “it was counted to him”

for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

Hope does not give a reason for the pain, Hope gives a reason to endure the pain.

Romans 5:1-2 1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Revelation 22:1-5 1Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of

Hope does not replace hurt. Hope redeems hurt.

3Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,

5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Hurt and hope will fight to direct your life.

Hope grows from proof and truth.
