Who participates in the inter-agency planning meetings? Police Child-and adolescent psychiatry Coordinator Procecutor Medical health team Local child protection services
Agenda 30 minutes The meeting should result in a plan for the further investigations and treatment of the child Sharing relevant information about the child and family Planning forensic interview (In 2 weeks) Medical examination? How is the child protected? Is their need for therapeutic assessment/treatment? Who does what and when?
Factors that have been helpful Time-limited meetings A structured and well-known agenda Information to all participants on required preparations Many of the participants (police, BUP, BST, coordinators) are collocated which facilitates meetings As a result of better structure, there is more focus on information to the child and questions about safety and protection after the forensic interview
GOOD PRACTICE STANDARDS FOR MD/IA 4. Child-friendly environment
Barnahus Stockholm Not the best conditions Very office-like and neutral facilities with small rooms A shared entrance with other businesses (a nursing home and an architectural firm) Difficult to find a suitable location
What we did More colours and a child-friendly wallpaper and carpet Small foot-steps in the entrance to make it clear where Barnahus is and that it is a place for children A machine where children kan evaluate their visit at Barnahus (Happy or not-machine)
