Key Priority 2 Identify and link existing structures and initiatives that support professional development for mathematics teachers Structures, initiatives and issues include Leading practice: ASTs, Consultants, SSAT Leading practitioners, Leading teachers, subject learning coaches, family numeracy, training schools Leadership: Head Teachers / principals / skills for life coordinators who take the lead in promoting mathematics PD Regional initiatives: Strategies, Maths4Life, SSAT, Professional Associations, STEM, improving learning in mathematics, HEIs Transfer: Primary secondary FE (including WBL) HE Sharing: 14 to 19 adult and community education Exemplification KP2 Devon Action Research Community
Key Priority 3 Place a particular focus on the importance of collaborative approaches to professional development Professional learning communities around mathematics teaching Use of the NCETM grant scheme to promote local collaborative action research Teachers working collaboratively on mathematics Exemplification KP3 NCETM grant-funded action research projects in SW SW Teachers’ Community
