Presentation transcript:

Monday, March 18, 2019 1.Bell-Ringer: today is a free write –pick a topic of your choice and write  HOMEWORK: SOAPSTone (go back to the blog for Friday’s Power Point and make sure you have the complete answers for pages 133-134. If you do not, on paper or if you have the space in the book, complete with the complete sentence answers & evidence provided in the Friday Power Point) 2. Take out 4 pieces of loose leaf college rule; we are going to set up your Argument Research Essay organizer/ evidence tracker. (If you were absent, I will provide you with the topic and instructions)

Your Research Topic: It’s a Random Pick… Today is the day for finding out your argumentative topic; you will be choosing the topic 2. After you have your topic; you will read an overview, answer 3 questions, and choose a “side” 3. Choosing a side before the research helps you recognize your bias… When you know your bias, it helps when you do your research. 4. Set up the evidence tracker for both Pro and Con side of the argument—Now, the topic is in your brain. The process is the same as the expositive essay, but the type of writing and the topic is different. 5. We reviewed requirements for the SOAPStone on pages 133-134 by going to the power point on the Friday post.
