Purchase of Books, Uniform, Shoes & Socks For purchase of books, uniforms, shoes and socks on today, Purchase of Books (Express Stream) E1-2 classroom Purchase of Books (NA and NT Stream) E1-3 classroom Purchase of Uniforms F1-2 Classroom Purchase of Shoes and Socks F1-3 Classroom For purchase of books, uniforms and shoes from 27 Dec 2016 onwards, please go to the school bookshop. The opening hours can be found on the booklist. Please refer to the layout of the school on the Orientation Information Package.

Purchase of Books – Additional Information for parents. To avoid long wait time, parents can choose one of the following alternative mode of purchase for books : Home delivery www.pacificbookstores.com Delivery charge of $11.80 applies. Self collection Order via website www.pacificbookstores.com and opt for the collection time and dates given on the website. Collection done from school

Purchase of Books – Additional Information for parents. Drop in booklist Indicate the items that you need on the booklist with a √ in the ‘Tick’ column. Write the name of your child, class and Parents contact number. Drop the booklist in a box labelled ‘2017 Sec 1 Booklist’ placed at the General office. Once the items are packed and ready for collection, the bookshop will contact you. Collection done from school. Walk in Dates and opening hrs are indicated on the book list.

Purchase of Uniform – Additional Information for parents. Please note that your child must be present for the purchase as measurements will be taken. Uniform sales will also be made available on 23 Dec (At F1-2), 27 – 30 Dec (Beside the bookshop) as well as when school reopens.

New Secondary Level School Smart Cards (SSC) Please note that all students entering Secondary One in Jan 2017 will be issued new Secondary Level School Smart Cards (SSC).    While Secondary One students are waiting for their Secondary Level SSCs to be ready,  they can continue to use their Primary level SSCs for concessionary travel till end  Apr 2017.   Students can still purchase the Bus Concession Pass(BCP) using their Primary level SSCs but they would need to purchase the BCP for Secondary School students.

After-School Activity A Typical School Week   Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Reporting Time 0810 0720 Classroom Parade Square School Hall End of School 1425 1240 After-School Activity Co-Curricular Activities (CCA)* (3:45 – 6:30pm) Swim Safer Programme (Terms 1 & 2 only) – weekly (1.40 – 2.55pm) IT Enrichment (Terms 1 & 2 only) – once a fortnight (2:45 – 3:45pm) Remedial Lessons – only for identified students (2:45 – 3:30pm) Students need to be in school by 8.20am (Mondays) / 7.20am (Tuesdays-Fridays) for silent reading.

Hence parents are strongly encouraged to attend the programme on Sat.

First Day of School 1. School opens on Tuesday, 3 January 2017. 2. Students are to report by 7.20am to the parade square. (Class Facilitators will lead students to the school hall) 3. Higher Mother Tongue (HCL/HML) Programme Students in this programme will sit for the Mother Tongue (CL2/ML2) GCE O Level Examination at the end of Sec 3 instead of Sec 4. He/She will be offered the HMTL paper in the fourth year (Sec 4). Students who do HMTL will enjoy the following bonus points if they choose the JCs route: 1. Students who obtain grades of A1 to C6 in both their English Language and HMTL will enjoy 2 bonus points; 2. They will enjoy additional bonus points for admission to a JC offering the Language Elective Programme (LEP) if they apply and are selected for the LEP. Students who do better in HMTL than English at the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination can use HMTL, instead of English, to seek admission to JCs. Please note that for your child/ward to remain in the HMT programme, he/she must maintain good results in his/her other subjects, not just CL2 and HCL. Students will sit for a qualifying test to determine if they can be offered the HMTL papers in Sec 1.

Communication Channels with parents School Website http://greendalesec.moe.edu.sg/ Termly Letters to parents Start of the Year letters from Form Teachers to Parents Timely information such as exam time table, post exam schedule will be posted on the school website. An SMS will be sent to one of the parents when such information are posted on the school website. Hence, do make sure that your contact information is updated. Termly letters containing information on key events of each term will also be uploaded on the school website. It is usually done at the start of each term. Do expect a letter from the FTs to parents. In this letter, you will find the email address of the FTs as well as the Subject teachers.
