“Saved by Grace Instead of Law!” Palm 115:17-18

To study any language you have to learn the tenses To study any language you have to learn the tenses. Remember studying the difference between past, present and future tenses?...

Many are having difficulty saying, “I am headed for heaven… I am saved Many are having difficulty saying, “I am headed for heaven… I am saved!” Now, if you don’t know your tenses in English, you might fail the course. You can live with that, but, if you don’t know your tenses when it comes to your relationship with God – if you don’t know the present tense of salvation, you are not really living…

A lot of Christians are living in such a manner – living in fear and doubt and wondering when “the Sheriff” is going to show up… All of this stems from a lack of understanding and growing in God’s grace…

Purpose: to better understand that GRACE is the alternative given by God to live under instead of law

There are but two ways/systems to relate to God…

I Two Ways to Salvation A. Law is One Way

Most people around the world fight for this same system of salvation…

I Two Ways to Salvation A. Law is One Way B. Grace is the Other Way

“unmerited, unearned, undeserved favor”

John 1:17 “For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.”

Galatians 5:4 “You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”

Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”

II Contrasts These Two Ways A. The System of Law

Keep the law = escape the penalty Break the law = suffer the penalty

James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.”

II Contrasts These Two Ways A. The System of Law B. The System of Grace

Keep the law = suffer the penalty Break the law = escape the penalty

Grace is NOT fair – grace is more than fair Grace is NOT fair – grace is more than fair! We’re all caught up in what’s fair and what’s not… As Christians we are to be more than fair. If you want what’s fair, if you want justice, then live under the law system

2 Corinthians 5:21 “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Conclusion and Summary How we all need to realize better and better our salvation depends not upon our weakness, but upon God’s strength. It depends not on our ability to keep law, but on God’s ability to keep His promises!
