What about Jesus?
“I give you a new command: Love one another “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34–35 CSB
We must realize that there is truth, there is error, and we can know the difference.
“Be on your guard against false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravaging wolves." Matthew 7:15 CSB
For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:13–14 CSB
Testing is necessary because there are many false teachers in the world.
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world... 1 John 4:1–3 CSB
This is how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not confess... 1 John 4:1–3 CSB
...Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming; even now it is already in the world. 1 John 4:1–3 CSB
Litmus Test: What do you believe about Jesus Christ?
Whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God!” Mark 3:11 CSB
Confession involves submission.
