MY FAVORITES Candy: Dark Chocolate, mint, skittles My name is Kristen Phillips. I go by Ms. Kristen in the classroom but am okay with Ms. Phillips. This is my eleventh year of teaching. I taught two years in another district in northern Colorado teaching preschool. This is my ninth year in the Widefield School District. I was born and raised in the state of Colorado. I have a bachelor’s degree in Special Education Generalist, Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I have master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education. All my degrees are from the University of Northern Colorado. I am fluent in American Sign Language and do use it in the classroom to expose the students to another language! I love to travel and to get to know about other places and other cultures. I have two dogs currently named Spirit and Whisper who are both Keeshonds. I have two cats Shana (black) and Miracle (tabby). Before I taught preschool I had 6 ½ years of working with and being a nursery supervisor of kids birth to three years old. I also used to work with migrant students from the age of 12 and ran many summer programs through Girl Scouts for these kids. I worked in an elementary after school program for 4 years where I helped to teach science, math, literacy and Dance. I went from Kindergarten through high school in Girl Scouts and got to travel out of the country with scouts. I am looking forward to this school year.
