Redeemed 1 Peter 1:18-19

Sin Is A Form Of Bondage The worst form of bondage; may not even realize it (2 Peter 2:19; cf. 1 Peter 1:14) Nevertheless, a “slave of sin” (Jn. 8:34) Further compounding the issue is it is a choice (Rom. 6:16-18) Not “made that way” or “born that way” “You are slaves of the one whom you obey”

The Price Of Redemption The death of Jesus IS the price Gave His life as a ransom (Matt. 20:28) Redemption through His blood (Eph. 1:7) Redemption involves purging Cleansing (Heb. 9:14; cf. 9:22) “In a moral sense, from the defilement of sin” (Vine’s) A declaration of love (Jn. 15:13)

The Christian Has Been Redeemed: To live in obedience to God (1 Peter 1:14) To live a life of holiness (2 Cor. 6:14-18) To have reverence and respect for God (1 Peter 1:17) To live a productive life (Titus 2:14)
