Arrest of Stephen F. Austin In 1833, Stephen F. Austin was arrested under suspension for encouraging rebellion in Texas When released in 1834, he would lead the Texan rebels to a victory over Mexico

Turtle Bayou Resolutions In June 1832, a group of Anglo-American soldiers staged a rebellion against Mexican rule in the town of Anahuac, located near Galveston, TX
