TEXTURED DESIGNMATERIAL LESSON – 9 PRECAUTION & CARE WHILE LAY -PLANING ON TEXTURED DESIGNMATERIAL

INTRODUCTION Many types of shirting material used – have different designs and texture – e.g. plain, one way print, two way print, all over print, stripes, checks, plaids etc. while cutting from plain – no more care necessary except grain and right wrong sides – but from stripes or checks / plaids, more problems may create – so keep points in mind while lay plan on checks / stripe

LAY PLANNING While layering , match the selvedge- checks / stripe While lay plan - both front , sleeves, cuff , pocket must have same lines – also at the points of collar, Shoulder yoke and sleeve stripe should be matched – if horizontal stripes – on side seam must match – use one way lay plan method
