School Hours Before Care: 7:00 am-8:00 am Breakfast: 7:50 am After Care: 3:00 pm-6:30 pm Mini Care (3:00 pm – 4:30) Class starts at 8:30 am every day…Please have your child be PRESENT and ON TIME each day!!

New Safety Procedures Parents must ring doorbell to enter building. Must bring a valid Florida ID or Drivers License Student must wear ID everyday. Replacement ID cost $15.00.

New Dismissal Procedures Parent pick located on basket ball court. Dismissal from 3:00 – 3:15 After 3:15 child will be taken to late pick up and parent will be charged $8.00 a day. Parents must complete sibling authorization form in order for minor sibling to pick up student. NEW!!!! 3RD- 5TH Grade Students will pick up sibling in lower grades and be dismissed at one location. Parents must present decal in order to pick up student. NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE PICKED UP IF PERSON IS NOT AUTHORIZED ON EMERGENCY CONTACT CARD

Materials Supply list is available online. Required materials, such as those on the supply list, will not be granted volunteer hours. NO ROLLING BOOKBAGS Composition notebook for each subject (Math, Science, Social Studies)

Community Service Hours 30 hours MUST be completed PER CHILD, by May. Teacher Wish list: treasure box treats, HP LaserJetP1102w Printer Ink, Walmart, Target, Office Depot Gift Cards, Laminating Sheets 3mil Attach receipt! If receipt is not attached, hours CANNOT be awarded. Opportunities: Field Trip Volunteer, Yearbook Volunteers must be cleared by MDCPS

Books They will EACH have your own textbook and practice book for each subject They are each RESPONSIBLE for making sure they have the books they need for their homework They are each RESPONSIBLE for making sure ALL books are in class EVERYDAY They will be RESPONSIBLE for paying or replacing if lost or damaged textbooks.

Homework/I-Ready Math homework will be assigned everyday from their Math Practice workbook Homework is displayed on the board daily and must be copied each morning as part their of daily routine. * Homework Club * Students are REQUIRED to complete 1 iReady lesson WEEKLY A grade will be given each week for iReady lessons completed

Absences & Missed Work You have 3 Days to bring an excused note After 5 consecutive absences, a doctor’s note is required. After 5 handwritten parent-excused notes, a doctor’s note is required. After 10 unexcused absences or tardies, within a semester, parents will be contacted regarding truancy.

Attendance Policy iMater will abide by the M-DCPS Student Attendance Reporting Procedures. iMater students are expected to: Be present at school each and every day Attend class as scheduled Arrive at school on time Demonstrate appropriate behavior and a readiness to learn Child MUST be present a minimum of 2 hours to be considered for attendance Attendance Policy will be enforced strictly! (Students leaving before 10:30 a.m. or arriving after 1:00 p.m. will be considered absent.)

Excused Absences Student Illness Students missing 5 or more consecutive days of school due to illness or injury must provide a written statement Death in Family Observance of a religious holiday School sponsored event or educational enrichment activity Other individual student absences beyond the control of the parent/guardian. Must notify the main office. Students granted an EXCUSED ABSENCE have the right to make up all course work within three (3) school days upon the return to school. Attendance is strictly enforced- it’s the law!

Unexcused Absences Any absence that does not fall into one of the excused absence categories is to be considered unexcused. Any student who has been absent from school will be marked unexcused until he/she submits written documentation as specified. Failure to provide required documentation within three (3) days upon the return to school will result in an unexcused absence. Unexcused absences do not require the teacher to provide makeup work for the student. iMater Attendance Review Committee (ARC) will schedule a parent meeting for any student who accumulates 10 or more unexcused absences.

FSA Florida Standards Assessments Tentative Dates: *Math May 1-14th Please do not plan any trips, doctors appointments, etc. on these dates

Birthday Celebrations Birthdays will be celebrated once a month! Birthday celebration dates will be available online. Treats may be dropped off in the main office on the specified dates, and the class will celebrate the last 10 minutes of class

Grading Scale All classroom assessments, including tests, classwork, quizzes, Home Learning, oral presentations, and projects will be weighted on the grading scale. Assessments – 40% Classwork – 20% Quizzes – 25% Home Leaning, oral presentations, and projects – 15%
