ITER-TBM Planning and Costing Meeting WBS 1.8.1.1.3.1.4, 1.8.1.1.3.2.4, 1.8.1.1.3.3.4 Thermofluid MHD (Engineering) Sergey Smolentsev ITER-TBM Planning and Costing Meeting UCLA December 12-14, 2005

DEFINITION and SCHEDULE WBS 1.8.1.1.3.2.4 “Thermofluid MHD” (Smolentsev), Title II, 2008-2010 This WBS includes the administration and R&D necessary for the performance of analyses for the detailed design in the area of thermofluid and MHD issues. The WBS will be supported by and coupled to the necessary development of new analytical tools (WBS 1.8.1.1.2.2). WBS 1.8.1.1.3.3.4 “Thermofluid MHD” (Smolentsev), Title III, 2011-2015 This WBS will support the final review, fabrication and assembly of the TBM. Analysis support will be provided as needed during the Title III phase to support review and implementation of design changes. Final assessment and design of SiC/SiC FCI Final assessment and design of sandwich FCI Pb-17Li inlet manifold, P, and flow distribution (final analysis and design) WBS 1.8.1.1.3.1.4 “Thermofluid MHD” (Smolentsev), Title I, 2006-2007 This WBS includes the administration and R&D necessary for the performance of analyses for the preliminary design in the area of thermofluid and MHD issues. The WBS will be supported by and coupled to the necessary development of new research tools (WBS 1.8.1.1.2.2). Preliminary assessment and design of SiC/SiC FCI Preliminary assessment and design of sandwich FCI Pb-17Li inlet manifold, P, and flow distribution (preliminary analysis and design)
