How do we use a vertical bar graph to graph data?

We can use a bar graph to make data easier to see We can use a bar graph to make data easier to see. This table shows the popularity of different foods.

The left column shows the kinds of foods…

…and the right column shows the number of people in a survey who liked that kind of food.

We will make a vertical bar graph to display the data We will make a vertical bar graph to display the data. The horizontal axis shows the kinds of food, and the vertical axis shows how many people liked each food.

We see that 12 people like pizza…

…nine people like tacos…

…four like hamburgers…

…two people said they like french fries…

…and only one person said they like burritos.

The bar graph helps us display data that we collect in many different ways.
