We have just completed a long and tiring election season. We are all very concerned at the moral direction this country is headed. Prov. 14:34, Isa. 5:20

We are blessed to live in a nation where we have a say and can influence the direction we want the country to go. Over time, we will win some and lose some elections. BUT, no matter what, there are …

Some Things This Election Has Not Change

God is in control! What is His purpose? He always has been & always will be. Rom. 8:28, Job 42:2, Prov. 21:30 No matter what happens, man will NOT defeat His ultimate purpose OR overpower Him. What is His purpose? 1 Tim. 2:4, Matt. 18:14, 1 Pet. 3:9

Our duty to the king… There are many different types of governments Regardless of the type of government or its attitude toward God consider: Rom. 13:1-2 1 Pet. 2:13-17 1 Tim. 2:1-3 Consider Acts 5:29

Our loyalty to Christ Is He truly first in our lives? Do we vote and act with selfish pursuits? Matt. 6:33 Phil. 3:20-21 2 Cor. 5:1-8 – where is your “building”?

Our mission It is to proclaim that Jesus is Lord Are we more excited about Him or politics (or sports, or a hobby, or work, etc.)? Eph. 1:20-22, Acts 17:16-19, also vs. 1-4 WE cannot wait on the government to proclaim Jesus!

Our need to be godly Examples must continue to be God centered. Do we treat others as we ought to? Eph. 5:8-9, Phil. 2:14-16, Matt. 5:16 Concerned? The real answer is not in activism, but in teaching Christ by example.

Our need to expose What do we do when we see error? We need to be prepared to suffer for what is right – 2 Tim. 3:12, 1 Pet. 4:1-3, 12-16

Our need to expose We cannot let fear of reprisal keep us from exposing error Eph. 5:11-12, Acts. 19:18-20, 21-27 – see a proper example!

Our need to be brethren We need each other! Heb. 13:1, John 13:24. Gal. 5:15 – if we bite and devour one another… Will we let political and social differences interfere with the way we treat each other? What do we want the world to see?

Where is your trust?
